Here’s where Arizona’s public universities placed in the Center for World University Rankings

PHOENIX — The Center for World University Rankings released its latest comparison of nearly 20,000 institutions from around the world and one of Arizona’s public universities was placed in the top 100.
The University of Arizona was ranked No. 93 overall, followed by Arizona State University at No. 182 and Northern Arizona University at No. 821.
The organization uses multiple indicators to compare the schools, such as alumni academic and professional success related to the university’s size and the number of faculty members who have won prestigious academic distinctions.

UArizona placed No. 73 overall for its faculty, and also received high marks for research conducted at the school.
“At the University of Arizona, we take pride in our ability to provide an environment for top-tier educators and researchers to generate cutting-edge discoveries while training the next generation of paradigm-shifting thinkers,” University of Arizona President Robert C. Robbins said in a press release.
“We are grateful to see these efforts recognized by the Center for World University Rankings.”
The University of Arizona also cracked into the top 50 nationally, coming in at No. 49.
Arizona State University, which also was among the top 150 overall for research conducted, wasn’t far behind when compared with institutions in the United States at No. 66.
Northern Arizona University ranked No. 187 nationally.
