I-10, Loop 101 closures among weekend Valley freeway restrictions

PHOENIX — Closures of Interstate 10 in the West Valley and Loop 101 in the East Valley are among the restrictions on metro Phoenix freeways this weekend.

Westbound I-10 will be closed between the Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway and Avondale Boulevard in the West Valley from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a pavement improvement project, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Also closed as part of the project are the southbound Loop 101 ramp to westbound I-10, the northbound Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway ramp to westbound I-10, as well as the westbound I-10 on-ramps at 67th, 75th and 83rd avenues.

The southbound Loop 101 ramp to eastbound I-10 closed will also be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Saturday for the project.

In the East Valley, the southbound Loop 101 Price Freeway is scheduled to be closed between U.S. 60 and the Loop 202 Santan Freeway in the Tempe and Chandler area from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday for pavement maintenance.

Both U.S. 60 ramps to southbound Loop 101 are also set to be closed for the project.

In North Phoenix, all Interstate 17 on- and off-ramps at Greenway Road will be closed through 5 a.m. Monday for a regional drainage project. Greenway Road is also set to be closed in both directions approaching the highway.

In Buckeye, eastbound I-10 is set to be narrowed to one lane between Watson Road and Verrado Way from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday for a widening project.

In the East Valley, westbound I-10 will be narrowed to three lanes between Broadway Road and 48th Street from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Saturday for bridge work as part of the I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project.

The final scheduled Valley freeway restriction is in the Surprise area as the southbound Loop 303 ramp to Grand Avenue (U.S. 60) will be closed from 3 a.m. to noon Saturday for barrier wall repairs.
