PHOENIX — An Arizona woman was sentenced last week to just over seven years in prison for shooting a person in a car on the Navajo Nation last year, authorities said.
Jerryctana Woolboy, 31, of Dennehotso, Arizona, will spend 85 months behind bars followed by supervised release after pleading guilty to assault resulting in serious bodily injury, the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona said in a press release.
Woolboy in February of 2021 shot a rifle at a vehicle, with the bullet striking a passenger and causing extensive injuries, authorities said.
Both Woolboy and the victim are enrolled members of the Navajo Nation.
Investigation of the case was conducted by the FBI and the Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety.
