PHOENIX — A portion of Broadway Road in Tempe will be closed for four nights this week due to bridge work as part of the Interstate 10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project.
The roadway will be closed between 48th Street and 52nd Street from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. each night from Tuesday through Friday, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The westbound I-10 on-ramp and eastbound off- and on-ramp at Broadway Road will also be closed.
There are several detour options for drivers who need to access the roadway during the closures.
Motorists on Broadway Road who need a way to the westbound part of the street should take Priest Drive northbound to University Drive, take University west to State Route 143 and then take the freeway south to Broadway Road past the closure.
Westbound I-10 drivers can exit at 40th Street and take it south to reach Broadway Road.
Eastbound drivers can reach Broadway by going south on 48th Street to Southern Avenue, then taking the road east to Priest Drive.
Eastbound I-10 drivers should exit at Baseline Road and take it northbound to Priest to access Broadway Road.
In another closure, a short stretch of the southbound Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway between McDowell Road and I-10 in the West Valley will be closed between 9 p.m. Monday and 5 a.m. Tuesday for overhead sign work.
