PHOENIX — A closure of Interstate 10 in the West Valley is the only major freeway restriction this weekend.
The highway will be closed between the Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway and Avondale Boulevard in Avondale from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for pavement improvement work, the Arizona Department of Transportation said in a press release.
The project will also close Southbound Loop 101 between Thomas Road and I-10, as well as the east- and westbound southbound Loop 101 ramps to I-10, the westbound I-10 on-ramps from 75th to 107th avenues and the southbound Loop 101 on-ramp at Indian School Road.
In Tempe, the Broadway Curve Improvement Project is set to narrow westbound I-10 to three lanes between Broadway Road and State Route 143 and 48th Street from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Saturday.
The westbound U.S. 60 HOV ramp to westbound I-10 will also be closed during that time period for the project.
