1 man fatally shot, another wounded at Phoenix apartment complex

PHOENIX – One man was fatally shot and another was wounded at a west Phoenix apartment complex on Wednesday night, authorities said.

Officers responded to a call about shots fired near 83rd Avenue and Encanto Boulevard around 8:30 p.m. and found one victim, the Phoenix Police Department said Thursday in a press release.

Yenso Estrada, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another call came in about a man who walked into a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound.

Officers went to the hospital and learned the man had been wounded at the apartment complex where the fatality occurred. The injured man provided limited information, police said.

No other information was made available. The investigation is ongoing.
