PHOENIX – Two houses sustained damage in a fire in northwest Phoenix on Wednesday morning, authorities said.

Responding crews made sure everybody was out of the structures in a neighborhood near 35th Avenue and Bell Road before putting out the blaze, the Phoenix Fire Department said in a press release.

One of the houses was undergoing renovations. The incident displaced two people who live in the home next door.

The Phoenix Fire Investigation Task Force is working to determine how the fire started.
