PHOENIX — Police arrested a 62-year-old man following a homicide in Phoenix on Friday night.

Officers responded to a parking lot in the area of 12th Street and Northern Avenue before midnight about a man who was hit by a vehicle, authorities said.

Police learned that Paul Scott struck the victim and ran him over with his car after the two had an altercation an hour prior.

Scott remained in the area and told someone to call the police, authorities said.

The victim died from his injuries, and Scott was booked into jail for one count of first-degree murder, authorities said.

An investigation is ongoing.

The Phoenix Police Department asks anyone with information to call 602-262-6151 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
