Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash on Phoenix street

PHOENIX – A hit-and-run driver killed a man walking a Phoenix street early Tuesday, authorities said.
The Phoenix Police Department said based on early investigating the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near 43rd and Glendale avenues around 1:15 a.m.
Officers were called to the scene and found the unidentified man with serious injuries lying in southbound lanes of 43rd Avenue.
Emergency personnel from the Phoenix Fire Department pronounced the man dead at the crash site.
Police are looking for the driver.
No other details were made available, pending notification of the man’s family.
