US 60 westbound reopened near Loop 101 in Tempe after fatal crash

PHOENIX — The westbound lanes of the U.S. 60 reopened Sunday evening near the Loop 101 transition ramp in Tempe after being closed due to a fatal crash, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.
The two-vehicle crash that involved a motorcyclist closed all three lanes just before 5 p.m. as drivers were forced to exit the freeway at Dobson Road. The freeway reopened around 6:15 p.m.
The motorcyclist was traveling on the Loop 101 transition ramp and abruptly changed lanes through the designated gore area to remain on the U.S. 60. but struck a sedan that was parked in the emergency lane, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.
