PHOENIX — A Phoenix man was sentenced to 15 years in prison last week for the bludgeoning death of a woman in September 2019, authorities said.
Jesse Don Moquino, 39, stabbed the woman with a sharp object and then hit her on the back of the head with a blunt object multiple times, causing her death, the United States Attorney’s Office, District of Arizona, said in a press release Tuesday.
Moquino, an enrolled member of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, pleaded guilty in February 2020 to voluntary manslaughter.
He will have three years of supervised release after his prison term concludes.
Investigation of the case was conducted by the Salt River Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, according to the release.
