PHOENIX – Music icon Elton John is stretching out his long goodbye, with a second Phoenix stadium show added to his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
The Rocket Man and his band will land at Chase Field on Nov. 11, a day before his previously scheduled performance.
Tickets for the new date are set to go on sale April 6 at 10 a.m.
His Nov. 12 show at the downtown Phoenix home of the Arizona Diamondbacks is nearly sold out, with only pricy platinum VIP packages and resales still available.
After saying goodbye to the Valley for a third time (the tour already came through Glendale’s Gila River Arena in 2019), Sir Elton has only three more U.S. shows on his itinerary, all at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
Then he’s off to New Zealand and Europe, with his five-year farewell journey set to wrap in Stockholm, Sweden, on July 8, 2023.
A chunk of the farewell tour, which was originally set to conclude last summer, had to be rescheduled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I’m going to go out in the biggest possible way, performing at my very best, with the most spectacular production I’ve ever had, playing in places that have meant so much to me throughout my career,” he said in June 2021.
The second Chase Field concert was one of 10 new North American shows announced Tuesday, including one in San Diego’s Petco Park on Nov. 9 and a third Los Angeles date on Nov. 17.
The 75-year-old superstar has performed 11 previous times in the Phoenix area over his legendary career, the first in 1971 at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix.
