Family makes it to safety after their Phoenix home catches fire

PHOENIX – A family of four escaped their burning home without injury early Monday, first responders said.
Crews from the Phoenix and Glendale fire departments put out the 3 a.m. blaze near 35th and Glendale avenues.
The fire started in the back of the small house, a spokesman for the Phoenix Fire Department said in an email.
Firefighters searched inside the home for anyone else. The family was able to get their dog to safety, as well.
Investigators were working to determine the cause of the fire.
No other details were made available.
