PHOENIX — Friendship Park in Avondale will soon become a paradise to kids on April 9 as part of the Avondale KidFest that is back again this year for more fun.

Held on Day of the Child, or ‘Dia de los Ninos,’ the celebration will run from 9:30 a.m to 1:30 p.m. at Friendship Park located on 12325 W McDowell Road.

KidFest is hosted in celebration of the Week of the Young Child, which is an effort to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families.

While attendees enjoy the numerous activities at hand, they can learn about the variety of resources the city of Avondale offers for families.

Celebrating early learning, teachers, young children and their families, Avondale KidFest is recognized by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Among the activities there will be police and fire vehicle-rides offered to kids, live entertainment, food trucks, along with arts and crafts.

For more information, visit the city of Avondale’s website.

We want to hear from you.
