PHOENIX – Discount department store chain Marshalls celebrates a move from one East Valley mall to another with a grand opening Thursday.

Marshalls joins the lineup at Tempe Marketplace from Mesa Riverview, about five minutes away along Red Mountain Loop 202 Freeway.

“We are thrilled that Marshalls chose Tempe Marketplace to relocate their neighboring store,” Taylor Alvey, vice president of leasing for mall operator Vestar, said in a Tuesday press release.

The shop will take up 23,000 square feet near Target and Cost-Plus World Market on the mall’s southwest side.

The outdoor shopping center features more than 100 stores and restaurants and hosts over 300 events a year.
