PHOENIX — Two suspects, including a minor, are facing first-degree murder charges following a fatal shooting in the parking lot of the Ikea in Tempe on Monday, authorities said.
Isaiah Williams, 18, and a 17-year-old boy are accused of killing 21-year-old Chris McCrimmon following a drug deal gone wrong, Tempe Police spokeswoman Natalie Barela said Tuesday during a press conference.
“During that transaction, some sort of altercation occurred that led to the shooting,” Barela said.
The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. at the Arizona Mills off Interstate 10 between Warner and Elliot roads, police said.
Williams and the minor suspect were detained following a traffic stop in Maricopa, according to police.
The suspects were also charged with aggravated robbery.
Tempe police is handling the investigation.
