PHOENIX — A closure of State Route 143 that will impact traffic heading to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport is among the restrictions on Valley freeways this weekend.

The northbound lanes of the State Route 143 Hohokam Expressway will be closed between Interstate 10 and Washington Street from 10 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Monday for work on the I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project, the Arizona Department of Transportation said in a press release.

Drivers trying to reach the west entrance to the airport are advised to use westbound I-10.

In the West Valley, eastbound I-10 is set to be closed between Avondale Boulevard and the Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for pavement improvement work.

Eastbound I-10 on-ramps at Dysart Road and Fairway Drive near the closure, as well as the eastbound I-10 ramp to northbound Loop 101 will be closed.

In north Phoenix, the westbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway is scheduled to be narrowed to three lanes between Tatum Boulevard and State Route 51, as well as being narrowed to three lanes between Seventh Street and Seventh Avenue, from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Sunday for pavement maintenance.

The project will close the westbound Loop 101 on-ramps at Seventh Avenue and Seventh Street.

Pavement maintenance will also close the westbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway HOV ramp to southbound State Route 51 from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Sunday.

In Buckeye, the eastbound I-10 off-ramp and westbound on-ramp at Miller Road will close for approximately six weeks starting at 10 p.m. Friday and continuing through late April for reconstruction as part of the I-10 widening project, ADOT said.

Lane restrictions along I-10 can also be expected mostly overnight in areas between Verrado Way and State Route 85.

Westbound I-10 is also set to be narrowed to one lane between Verrado Way and Watson Road from 9 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday for the widening project.
