Hot rod car show coming to Scottsdale this weekend

PHOENIX — More than 2,500 custom hot rods, muscle cars, restored classics and trucks will be rolling into Westworld of Scottsdale this weekend to compete for prizes at the 12th annual Fitech Fuel Injection Spring Nationals.
The family-friendly car show, put on by Goodguys Rod & Custom Association, begins Friday and runs through Sunday. The event takes place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
General admission tickets can be bought at the gate or online for $25 on Friday and Saturday, with the price decreasing to $20 on Sunday. There are also discounts available for children and members of the association.
Other things to enjoy at the car show include burnout competitions, an autocross series and the Nitro Thunderfest Dragster exhibition, according to a press release.
Meanwhile, children can take part in a model make and take on Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m., along with a kids zone that has free arts and crafts, games and prizes.
Hundreds of vendors and exhibitors will also be present, according to the release, offering products, services and memorabilia up for sale. There will also be food and drink vendors.
