PHOENIX — The city of Gilbert will host a multicultural celebration for all ages later this month with the Gilbert Global Village Festival.
The event will take place on March 25 and 26 in the Downtown Heritage District between Gilbert Road and Ash Street from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the first day and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the second day.
A free event to all, the Gilbert Global Village Festival aims to celebrate the cultural diversity in the local community.
The mission of the celebration is to “create a safe and respectful environment where authentic connections thrive, opinions are equally valued, allyship is encouraged and differences are shared and celebrated,” according to the festival’s website.
The festival is littered with activities, including two stages that will feature a variety of performances, a world market and a “Taste of Nations” where attendees can taste their way around the world with cultural food and drink selections from local vendors.
With the SRP World Stage and the First Things First Tiki Stage, over 20 performances will take place at the festival.
“Explore-A-Nation” will also be offered to festival-goers, giving them the opportunity to experience a variety of cultural activities as they travel to different booths.
Those interested in getting involved with the Gilbert Global Village Festival as a food or retail vendor can fill out an interest form online.
