Teens invited to submit photos for Arizona Highways contest

PHOENIX — Teen photographers can now submit their best nature shots for an Arizona Highways contest, where 10 winners will share $10,000 in prize money and gifts.
The 9th Annual “Adventures in Nature” photo contest is open through midnight on April 15 for students ages 13-18 to submit as many photos as they would like online.
The first-place winner gets $5,000, with the second receiving $2,500, the third is awarded $1,000 and seven honorable mention winners will each get $250.
Winners of the contest will be announced during a ceremony on May 5.
In addition to the prize money, the winners will also receive gifts, passes to Nature Conservancy preserves in the state, as well as having their photos published in the orginization’s magazine, in The Nature Conservancy and Cox Communications.
Arizona Highways said the photos can be from scenic natural areas, backyards or neighborhoods, and that the goal of the contest is to connect young people with the outdoors through photography.
