PHOENIX — First Lady Jill Biden will travel to Arizona on Monday as part of a three-day trip promoting President Joe Biden’s agenda.

She is expected to arrive at Sky Harbor Airport and visit the Intel Ocotillo Campus and the Democratic National Committee finance event, both located in Chandler.

In September, Intel began construction on two new semiconductor manufacturing plants as part of a $20 billion investment that has been described as the largest private-sector investment in Arizona history.

From there, she is expected to travel to Tucson for Tuesday events with Secretary of U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra at the San Xavier Health Center in Tohono O’odham Nation and a performance by Tohono O’odham dancers.

The First Lady is expected to depart Tucson on Wednesday for events in Reno, Nevada, and Fort Campbell, Kentucky, later in the week.

She visited the Grand Canyon State multiple times last year. She traveled to Phoenix in June as part of a tour to encourage vaccinations and stopped in the Navajo Nation in April to meet with with Navajo President Jonathan Nez and First Lady Phefelia Nez.

According to her White House biography, she has visited 35 states, 60 cities and three countries in her first year as First Lady.

The visit is focused on issues involving healthcare and the economy.

Notably left off the First Lady’s agenda is a trip to the border, where local authorities have been clamoring for action by the Biden administration and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

We want to hear from you.
