Lane closures on State Route 85 in Buckeye to begin on Sunday

PHOENIX — Northbound and southbound lanes of State Route 85 in Buckeye will be closed on varying days beginning Sunday.
Northbound State Route 85 will be closed between MC 85 and Baseline Road starting Sunday at midnight and ending Monday, the Arizona Department of Transportation said in a press release.
The southbound lanes of the highway will then close in the same area beginning Tuesday and ending Wednesday.

State Route 85 will see 24 hour closures in each direction starting Midnight Sunday, Feb. 27 as the Union Pacific Railroad company replaces the railroad tracks.

The closures are due to Union Pacific Railroad replacing railroad tracks, ADOT said, which requires the lanes to be closed for 24 hours.
ADOT advises drivers to allow extra time when traveling in the area during the closures and plan for possible delays while work is underway.
