4 arrested, 375,000 suspected fentanyl pills seized in massive Phoenix drug bust

PHOENIX – Four men have been arrested for their alleged involvement in a massive metro Phoenix drug operation, authorities said Wednesday.
Investigators served search warrants at three addresses in west Phoenix and Avondale on Feb. 7 and seized large quantities of drugs, including fentanyl, the Phoenix Police Department said in a press release.
The total included about 375,000 M30 pills suspected of containing fentanyl, more than 2 kilograms of cocaine, 1 kilogram of powder suspected to be fentanyl, 190 pounds of methamphetamine, 3 pounds of heroin and 12 pounds of marijuana, police said.
Seven firearms, five vehicles and more than $70,000 were also seized as part of the investigation, which was conducted by the Phoenix Police Mountain View Precinct Neighborhood Enforcement Team and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
The suspects were charged by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office as follows:
- Victor Manuel Vargas, 37, five counts involving drugs and weapons.
- Carlos Manuel Munoz-Garcia, 19, one count of possessing narcotics for sale.
- Damien Roman Escobar, 21, three counts involving drugs and weapons.
- Jake Aldaco, 28, two counts of possessing drugs for sale.
