PHOENIX – A suspect in a hit-and-run collision that injured a 2-year-old boy in a stroller in Phoenix over the weekend has been arrested, authorities said Tuesday.

Davorah Jerrice Ross, 21, called police Monday to report that her car had been stolen but admitted her involvement in Sunday night’s hit-and-run after learning the child survived, according to court documents.

She was booked on one count of hit-and-run with serious injury, a class 2 felony.

The boy was hospitalized with head trauma, a broken pelvis and a bleeding liver, according to the probable cause statement.

Ross allegedly drove her 2013 Nissan Altima through a red light near 19th and Glendale avenues while a relative of the boy was pushing him in a stroller through a crosswalk, police said.

Ross told police she left the scene and hid the car because she was scared, according to the probable cause statement.

We want to hear from you.
