Pilot killed in northwest Arizona plane crash near Kingman

PHOENIX — A pilot is dead after a plane crashed northwest of Kingman Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
Deputies received multiple calls of a plane crash around 1:30 p.m. at Triangle Airpark in White Hills and arrived to a single engine plane and debris scattered nearby Highway 93, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.
Pilot Richard Moynihan, 73, of Boulder City, Nevada, the only passenger in the plane, was dead on scene, authorities said.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board will be conducting the investigation.
No additional information was made available.
CORRECTION: A previous version of this story said a pilot and passenger were killed. The pilot was the sole passenger in the plane.
