Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch sold, to undergo renovations

Feb 14, 2022, 1:20 PM | Updated: 1:55 pm

PHOENIX — A hotel property in Scottsdale that has been around for more than four decades was recently sold and will undergo a multimillion-dollar renovation.

The 326-room Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch will have upgrades slated to begin in the summer and be finished by early 2023, according to a Monday press release.

The renovation will happen in phases and the hotel will remain open during the duration of construction.

“The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch holds a very special place in the legacy of Arizona hospitality and we look forward to breathing new life and infusing a vibrant energy into this well-established Scottsdale property,” Alan Klein, area general manager for Driftwood Hospitality, said in the release.

Updates will include all guest rooms, common areas, amenity spaces, food and beverage outlets and 80,000 square feet of event space.

The Stillman Building will also be converted into a collection of two-story villas, which will drop the room count to 276.

The hotel, which underwent a $10 million transformation in 2015, is located on McCormick Parkway between Scottsdale and Hayden roads.
