With the calendar turning to February, it’s an exciting time of year with The Big Game on Feb. 13 as well as the Presidents Day sale.
With the big game just around the corner, The Big Game garners a crowd that’s greater than just football fans.
People all around the world watch the finale of each NFL season, part of that being the commercials that are featured during the event.
Companies pay top dollar for The Big Game ads since the entire world is seemingly watching. Thanks to that, they usually deliver comedic relief that viewers don’t see from an ordinary event.
In preparation of the big game and the Presidents Day sale, Sanderson Ford wants you to enjoy five of the best commercials from The Big Game.
Snickers – Betty White
What better way to kick off some of The Big Game’s best ads then with the late, great Betty White making an appearance for Snickers in 2010.
White, otherwise playing “Mike,” the legendary actress is on the gridiron playing in a pickup football game.
Running the popular “post” route, White gets violently tackled into a pile of mud by an opponent before getting into a spat with teammates.
Turns out, Mike just needed a Snickers.
Doritos Time Machine
One of the all-time greats from Doritos, who often brings its best for The Big Game, is from 2014 when little Jimmy duped Mr. Smith into a whole bag of Spicy Nacho Doritos.
Mr. Smith sees Jimmy in a yard with his homemade time machine that runs on Doritos, scoring a nice snack from a foolish neighbor.
However, Jimmy didn’t tell Mr. Smith they weren’t in front of his house.
The homeowner came outside, scaring off Jimmy. And not only was Mr. Smith fooled to thinking he traveled in time, he lost a bag of Doritos in the process.
NFL 100
The NFL’s 100th anniversary was three years ago in 2019, and it gave viewers one memorable commercial that featured the games current stars and legends.
In the near two-minute ad with some of the game’s greats, they did what they do best.
Play football.
Old Spice – The Man Your Man Could Smell Like
This 2011 classic is one that went on to win the Emmy for Most Outstanding Commercial.
“Look at your man, now back at me” was a phrase that was wildly popular after the ad aired and Old Spice has continued to bring their A-game for The Big Game.
Leon Sandcastle
This great The Big Game commercial from the NFL Network stars none other than “Primetime” Deion Sanders.
One of the league’s greats, Sanders uses the alias “Leon Sandcastle” to enter the 2013 NFL Draft, where he takes the class by storm.
Wowing scouts and fans at the NFL combine, the Kansas City Chiefs drafted Sandcastle with the No. 1 overall pick.
A year later, a very familiar face in “Jerry Ricecake” was the top pick.
