Chicken restaurant Birdcall to open first Arizona location in Scottsdale this spring

PHOENIX — Denver-based chicken restaurant Birdcall recently announced plans to open its first Arizona location in Scottsdale this spring.
The fast-casual restaurant at the northeast corner of Scottsdale Road and Shea Boulevard is set to open in April and will serve lunch and dinner with a menu that includes all-natural chicken sandwiches, crispy tenders, chicken nuggets and salads, the company said in a press release.
People can also order from a selection of house-made margaritas and beers on draft from local breweries like SanTan Brewing Co. and Greenwood Brewing, the company said, while buns for the sandwiches will be sourced from local Phoenix artisan bakery Noble Bakery.
Organic teas and sodas, as well as specialty milkshakes, will also be available.
“We’re trying to change the way that people look at fast food,” Peter Newlin, Birdcall co-founder and chief executive officer, said in the release.

Our customers appreciate the fact that they can either grab a meal to-go or dine in with family and friends in a casual, hip setting that conveniently works around their schedules and any time constraints.”
The Scottsdale location will have a dog-friendly outdoor patio with tables and umbrellas for shade, as well as a double-lane drive-thru option, the company said.
It marks the company’s ninth location since its debut in 2016 and is part of a plan to open 10 Birdcall restaurants in the metro Phoenix area over the next three years, according to the release.
The company is slated to open another location at San Tan Village in the fall and a third in Phoenix early next year.
At least 1% of sales from all restaurants will be given back to the local community, the company said, with the beneficiaries ranging from local street artists and musicians to schools and nonprofit organizations.
