Man dies after crashing into semi-truck in Phoenix Saturday night

PHOENIX — Phoenix police said a man has died in a fatal traffic crash after he collided with a semi-truck at a high rate of speed Saturday night.

Authorities responded to the incident around 9:10 p.m. and learned an SUV was driving northbound on Grand Avenue and crashed into the semi-truck that was making a left turn from 24th Avenue onto Grand Avenue, police said in a press release

The man driving the SUV, LeAndre Johnson, 55, died at the scene as a result of his injuries, police said.

The semi-truck driver stayed on scene and was working with investigators.

An investigation remains ongoing.
