PHOENIX — A pop-up clinic in Phoenix on Saturday will have free COVID-19 tests and vaccines, as well as protective gear to help curb the spread of the virus.

The clinic takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cartwright Elementary School (2825 N. 59th Ave.) and is a partnership made up of Phoenix Councilmember Yassamin Ansari, Chicanos Por La Causa, the Cartwright School District and Vincere Cancer Center, according to a press release.

In addition to the tests and vaccines that are available for adults and children, attendees can pick up a free KN95 mask and a rapid at-home test while supplies last. Bus passes will also be available.

Those interested can either register online or walk in on the day of the event.

Ansari added people while waiting in line can learn about city departments offering rent and utility relief, along with other financial support.

“Access to affordable rapid tests, KN95 masks and more continues to be a challenge across our city, state and country,” Ansari, who serves the city’s seventh district, said in the release. “If you work your typical 9-5, this gets even harder.

“I want to remind folks of the resources available to them – and on their own time. I’m hoping this all-encompassing clinic will be able to achieve that.”

We want to hear from you.
