PHOENIX — The 25th annual Arizona Songwriters Gathering is set to take place Saturday in Glendale, offering experienced or aspiring songwriters and general music lovers various activities.
The Glendale Main Library at 5959 W. Brown St. will host the free event from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with over 50 live music performances taking place throughout the day in addition to workshops and presentations.
Among the live performances is a round-robin style jam session, the city said in a press release, offering the opportunity for musicians to share their tunes.
Arizona Hall of Fame member Walt Richardson will cap the event starting at 3:45 p.m., performing alongside longtime bandmates Hannes Kvaran and Tim Sadow.
The Arizona Songwriter’s Association with the yearly event hopes to provide a networking opportunity for songwriters, producers, performers and other industry professionals while offering chances to learn more about writing songs, the city said.
The “Diner on Wheels” food truck will provide food and beverages to purchase throughout the day, the city said.
