PHOENIX — Fluffy friends from all around will travel to the city of Surprise this weekend for the Copper Classic Dog Show that will feature over 2,000 dogs.

Presented by the Kachina Kennel Club, the three-day event begins Friday and will have over 200 breeds of dogs that will be competing in a variety of sport, agility and conformation competitions, according to a press release.

The event begins at 8 a.m. and goes through 5 p.m. each day at Mark Coronado Park. Admission and parking are free.

Spectators can enjoy the popular “Dock Dogs,” where some of the dog athletes competitively showcase their water diving skills, the straight-line course named “Fast Cat,” as well as shop at the different vendors that will be there, according to the release.

The show says that only dogs participating in the show are permitted and those who attend are reminded to always ask handlers before they pet a dog.

Visit the show’s website for additional information or call 623-222-2222.

We want to hear from you.
