PHOENIX — The only scheduled Valley freeway closure people will have to detour around this weekend is a portion of the Loop 202 in Gilbert.
The westbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway will be closed between Higley Road and Val Vista Drive from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for work on the Lindsay Road interchange project, the Arizona Department of Transportation said in a press release.
On-ramps to the highway at Power Road, Williams Field Road and San Tan Village Parkway are also set to be closed.
The highway will also be narrowed to one or two lanes in either direction overnight in areas between Elliot and Higley roads beginning Sunday at 10 p.m. and lasting until 5 a.m. Monday for pavement maintenance. The lanes will continue to be narrowed during those same times through Thursday.

In Tempe, drivers should also be aware of a closure of Broadway Road in both directions between 48th and 52nd streets from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday for work on the Interstate 10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project.
As part of the closure, the westbound I-10 on-ramp at Broadway Road and the eastbound I-10 connector ramp between 48th Street and Broadway Road will both be closed.
The eastbound I-10 on-ramp at Broadway Road will remain open for eastbound Broadway Road traffic, ADOT said.
