PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Transportation reopened Interstate 17 southbound near Deer Valley Road after a crash on Sunday afternoon.

All lanes were closed except for the HOV lane, inducing a backup that caused authorities to advise motorists to consider alternate routes.

Deer Valley Road is the exit directly before State Route 101.

The crash appeared to have blocked the Deer Valley Road exit.
