PHOENIX — Grammy-award winner Celine Dion canceled the remaining shows on the North American leg of her “Courage World Tour” including an April 8 trip to Gila River Arena, the singer announced Saturday.
The cancellation comes as Dion is recovering from a recent health issue. The singer has been treated for severe and persistent muscle spasms that have affected her performing, according to a release.
“I was really hoping that I’d be good to go by now, but I suppose I just have to be more patient and follow the regimen that my doctors are prescribing,” Dion said in a statement.
Dion had finished the first 52 shows of the tour, but the tour was put on halt in March 2020 due to the rise of COVID-19.
The “Courage World Tour” was initially rescheduled to run from March 9 to April 22 prior to its cancellation.
“I’ll be so glad to get back to full health, as well as all of us getting past this pandemic, and I can’t wait to be back on stage again,” Dion said.
“I feel your love and support and it means the world to me.”
