PHOENIX — Arizona treasurer Kimberly Yee announced Saturday she will be withdrawing from the Republican primary for governor.

Upon withdrawing, Yee is transitioning her campaign to run for a second term as state treasurer, according to a press release.

“Upon my leadership as state treasurer, Arizona’s assets have grown to $26.1 billion, an increase of 69% and up $11 billion in three years,” Yee said in the release.

“I am proud of this historic, record growth under my watch, which means less taxes and more money for Arizonans. There is additional work to be done as treasurer of Arizona.”

Yee launched her campaign for governor back in May 2021. An Arizona native, Yee was elected treasurer in 2018.

“I want to thank my volunteers and supporters from across Arizona’s 15 counties for their support during my campaign for governor,” Yee said. “As I transition my campaign, I invite them to join me in my re-election efforts for Arizona Treasurer.”

There will be more information regarding Yee’s re-election efforts for treasurer, the release said.

We want to hear from you.
