PHOENIX — Three suspects were arrested for their alleged involvement in a string of seven shootings in El Mirage, authorities said Wednesday.

Detectives with the El Mirage Police Department were sent to a residence near Cactus and Dysart roads on Dec. 9 after a report of shots fired and a vehicle leaving the scene immediately after the incident.

The vehicle, described as a silver or tan four-door sedan, was located on Dec. 11, according to El Mirage police.

Officers launched an investigation and searched two homes in the city on Tuesday and Wednesday, leading to the arrests.

Joseph Jessy Neil Macaulay, 20, Christopher Carrillo, Jr., 20, and Joseph Quiroz, 18, were arrested on counts including aggravated assault with a firearm, criminal damage and endangerment.

Police said the suspects were linked to six other shootings in El Mirage, although it wasn’t clear how recently they occurred.

No injuries occurred as a result of the shootings, police said.

Seven handguns were seized during the investigation, according to police.

All three suspects were booked into Maricopa County Jail.
