Windows, door blown out in downtown Phoenix apartment explosion

PHOENIX – Firefighters responding to an explosion call at a downtown Phoenix apartment complex Friday afternoon found windows and a door blown out but no active fire, authorities said.
A possible explosion was reported around 12:40 p.m. at the Marquee Apartments on Second Avenue between McKinley and Fillmore streets.
Crews didn’t notice anything amiss until entering the complex and seeing the damaged windows and door on a second-story unit, according to a Phoenix Fire Department press release.
The tenant said he left his apartment for a few minutes before hearing a loud noise, according to the release.
No other units were damaged and nobody was injured.
The Phoenix fire and police departments were working to determine the cause.
No other information was immediately available.
