PHOENIX – Fire drove a family of six and two dogs out of their Phoenix home early Friday but all are safe, first responders said.
The Phoenix Fire Department was called to the home of one adult and five children near 19th and Southern avenues and arrived to find flames and smoke.
Burning started in the laundry room and spread quickly, a fire department spokesman said in an email.
ABC15 reported that a teen in the home heard the smoke alarm and woke the rest of the family.
Two of the children were evaluated for smoke inhalation but no one had to be taken to the hospital, firefighters said.
Cause of the blaze is under investigation.
No other details were made immediately available.
