PHOENIX — The Phoenix Law Enforcement Association is holding a fundraiser Friday for Officer Tyler Moldovan, who is fighting for his life after being shot earlier this week.

The fundraiser barbecue will go from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the PLEA headquarters, located at 1102 W. Adams St.

Donations are accepted at the event or online at the PLEA website.

PLEA said 100% of proceeds will benefit the Moldovan family.

Moldovan, 22, was placed on life support after the shooting, which occurred near 15th Avenue and Camelback Road just after 2 a.m. Tuesday.

At 5 p.m. Thursday, the Phoenix Police Department tweeted that Moldovan remained in extremely critical condition.

He graduated from the academy in March and had recently moved to solo officer status.

Essa Williams, the 24-year-old suspect in the shooting, was booked into Maricopa County Jail on Tuesday on counts of attempted first degree murder, possession of a weapon by a prohibited person and resisting arrest.

More charges could be pending.
