Freeway delays expected for Cardinals’ Monday Night Football game in Glendale

PHOENIX — The Arizona Cardinals are welcoming the Los Angeles Rams in this week’s Monday Night Football game, an event that will back-up metro Phoenix freeways during rush hour.
Commuters are strongly encouraged to plan for extra time on the drive home and for fans to arrive early for the game, scheduled for a 6:15 p.m. kickoff at State Farm Stadium in Glendale.
The Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway in Glendale and westbound Interstate 10 will be the most affected freeways with heavier traffic and longer drive times.
Drivers coming from the East Valley can use the northbound Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway to I-10 to get to the West Valley.
Fans could also use southbound and westbound Loop 101 west of I-17 to get to Glendale.
Northbound Loop 101 on-ramps at Indian School Road, Camelback Road and Cardinals Way as well as the southbound Loop 101 on-ramp at Glendale Avenue will be closed from approximately 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Southbound Loop 101 off-ramps at Cardinals Way and Camelback Road and the north- and southbound Loop 101 exits at Maryland Avenue near the stadium will be closed from about 8:45 p.m. to 11:45 p.m.
The roof will be open for the game between the 10-2 Cardinals and 8-4 Rams.
