PHOENIX – Police are looking for leads in an apparent road rage shooting that left a woman dead in north Phoenix on Thursday.

Stella Montes, 38, was driving near Seventh Avenue and Beardsley Road when she was reportedly shot after an altercation with a person in another vehicle, the Phoenix Police Department said in a press release Friday.

Officers were called to the scene after Montes’ vehicle crashed into a wall Thursday afternoon.

Montes was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police didn’t have a description of the vehicle the alleged shooter was in.

Anybody who may have witnessed the incident or has any information about the case was asked to call the Phoenix Police Department at 602-262-6151 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS (948-6377) or 480-TESTIGO (837-8446) for Spanish.

We want to hear from you.
