PHOENIX – An upscale movie theater chain will make its debut in Arizona next week in Scottsdale with a two-day celebration.
Landmark Theatres will officially open Dec. 16, but will host an open house preview event at the Scottsdale Road and Greenway Parkway site the previous night.
“We are very excited to extend our brand into the Phoenix area, in a beautifully designed luxury theatre in an upscale center,” theater President Paul Serwitz said in a Wednesday press release.
The eight-screen cinema at the Scottsdale Quarter replaces the IPIC Theatres, which closed in January 2020.
Renovations include the addition of plush recliners, new concessions and a full-service bar and lounge.
Guests to the preview will be limited to 400 and they must RSVP.
Films scheduled for the night include “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” and “Nightmare Alley.”
“The new cinema will be a great compliment to the shopping center and adds to our already dynamic offering of shopping, dining and entertainment,” Richard Hunt, general manager of Scottsdale Quarter, said in August, when the theater announced the deal.
Landmark Theatres operates 37 sites in 16 states and Washington, D.C.
