PHOENIX – For the second time in less than two weeks, somebody who bought a lottery ticket at a West Valley Walmart is grinning after hitting The Pick jackpot.
An entry sold at the Walmart Neighborhood Market at 67th and Peoria avenues in Glendale matched all six numbers in Saturday’s drawing — 2, 15, 17, 18, 39 and 41 — for the $1 million jackpot, the Arizona Lottery said Monday.
The payout might have been higher if somebody hadn’t matched all six numbers in the twice-weekly game just three drawings earlier, resetting the grand prize.
That ticket, purchased at the Walmart SuperCenter on Waddell Road at the Loop 303 in Surprise, was good for an $8.8 million jackpot from the Nov. 24 game.
Odds of hitting The Pick jackpot are 1 in 7,059,052, according to the Arizona Lottery.
The game costs $1 per entry and also pays out $2,000 for matching five numbers, $50 for four numbers and $3 for three numbers.
Winners have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.
