Riparian After Dark in Gilbert kicks off holiday event this weekend

Dec 7, 2021, 4:25 AM | Updated: 7:58 am

PHOENIX — If you’re looking for a festive night out with the family in nature, then the holiday lights at the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch in Gilbert might be worth considering a visit.

Every evening on Dec. 10 to 19 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. families can stroll down the walkways at Riparian After Dark located on the southeast corner of Greenfield and Guadalupe roads.

Thousands of lights and displays will be available for viewing along the paved trail around the preserve.

Local food trucks and vendors will be on site and various nonprofits will collect donations throughout the week at the event.

Registration to the event must be completed in advance online and tickets sell for $2 per person.

Riparian After Dark was a free event in previous years, but event organizers started requiring tickets in 2020 to regulate capacity during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event entrance is located in the north parking lot of the Riparian at Water Ranch and attendees can find parking at the Southeast Regional Library.

Alcohol and glass containers are prohibited at the event and visitors are asked to not feed the animals.

We want to hear from you.
