PHOENIX — Monday marked eight years since a man was murdered at a Phoenix apartment complex and authorities are increasing the reward to help solve the cold case.

The new reward amount is $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and/or indictment of two suspects in the murder of 59-year-old Jeffrey Bellemare in 2013.

Bellemare was working as a security guard at Graybriar Apartments near Indian School Road and 51st Avenue when he was shot and killed around 1:30 a.m., the Phoenix Police Department said.

A man and a woman were observed running from the scene and getting into an older model sedan with a vinyl top that had possible front-end damage from a prior incident.

One suspect is described as a white or light-skinned Hispanic man, while the other was described as a white or light-skinned Hispanic woman.

Those with information are asked to contact Silent Witness at 480-W-I-T-N-E-S-S (948-6377) or 480-T-E-S-T-I-G-O for Spanish. An anonymous tip can also be submitted on the Silent Witness website.

People can remain completely anonymous and earn the cash reward, authorities said.
