PHOENIX — Those who need to work off some extra calories from Thanksgiving can take part in a hiking challenge on State Parks trails and win prizes.
Arizona State Parks and Trails’ Eight4Two Challenge gets underway Friday and runs through Jan. 17.
The challenge calls for people to hike, walk or bike eight different trails in at least four different state parks, according to a press release.
Those who complete the challenge will win two day-use passes, good for up to four people, in addition to a limited-edition sticker.
Participants register online, log entries and submit a photo of their adventures, which may be used on social media and in Arizona State Parks and Trails advertising.
It’s the second year Arizona State Parks and Trails has hosted the challenge, with the start date coinciding with a national campaign to OptOutside during Black Friday.
People can register and find more information on the challenge, including a list of trails and hikes in every region of the state, online.
