PHOENIX – A Tempe food-processing company is recalling multiple ready-to-eat chicken and pork products over safety concerns, officials announced Wednesday.

The voluntary recall is for 16 Nourish-Kitchen Foods items produced from July 1 to Nov. 3 and sold exclusively in Arizona, according to an Arizona Department of Agriculture press release.

The announcement didn’t specify where the items were sold or how they were packaged. According to the Nourish-Kitchen website, the company produces deli salads, dips and spreads, and cut fruits and vegetables.

The recall was designated as Class I, defined as “a health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death” by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The Arizona Department of Agriculture’s Meat and Poultry Inspection (MPI) program said in the release that Nourish-Kitchen didn’t produce the items “in accordance with its food safety plan, failing to take the crucial steps it had determined were necessary to produce safe products and also producing product without the benefit of inspection.”

The issue was discovered through an inspection of company records by MPI personnel.

“The review uncovered evidence to show that the establishment’s food safety records cannot be relied upon to document compliance with its food safety plan. Therefore, MPI must consider the products to be adulterated and have acted to remove the products from commerce,” the release said.

Anybody with questions about the recall can contact the company at 480-912-5143, according to the release.

Here is the list of recalled products, which all have “EST 11” inside the mark of inspection on the product label (range of expiration dates in parentheses):
