PHOENIX – Five people, including children, were hospitalized Wednesday after a two-car collision at a Phoenix intersection, first responders said.

The cars crashed near 75th Avenue and Indian School Road around 8 a.m., a Phoenix Fire Department spokesman said. Multiple units were sent to the wreck site.

Three children were taken to the hospital – boys 6 and 11 and a girl, 14 – in stable condition.

A 29-year-old woman and a 33-year-old woman fared worse. They were taken from the scene in critical condition, the fire department said.

One person had to be extricated from one of the damaged vehicles that carried seven people between them.

The Phoenix Police Department was investigating.

No other details were immediately available.
