PHOENIX — Closures on portions of Interstate 10, Loop 101 and Loop 202 are among the restrictions on Valley freeways this weekend.

In the West Valley, westbound I-10 is scheduled to be closed between Loop 101 and Avondale Boulevard from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a pavement improvement project.

The southbound Loop 101 ramp to westbound I-10 is also closed, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation, while the westbound I-10 ramp to northbound Loop 101 will remain open.

In north Phoenix, the eastbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway will be closed between Seventh Avenue and Cave Creek Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for pavement joint sealing as part of a widening project.

Both I-17 ramps to eastbound Loop 101 in addition to the eastbound Loop 101 on-ramps at 27th and 19th avenues are also set to be closed.

In the southeast Valley, the eastbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway will be closed between Gilbert Road and Val Vista Drive from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for the new Lindsay Road interchange project.

Eastbound Loop 202 on-ramps at Cooper and McQueen roads are also set to be closed for the project.

Near Sky Harbor Airport, westbound I-10 will be narrowed to two lanes with the right lanes closed between Broadway Road and 24th Street from 3 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday for the Broadway Curve Improvement Project.

Drivers should expect westbound I-10 on- and off-ramp closures in this area, along with a closure of the southbound State Route 143 ramp to westbound I-10.

Northbound SR 143 will also be narrowed to one lane between Broadway Road and University Drive.

The eastern portion of the highway will then be narrowed to three lanes with the right lanes closed between 24th Street and Broadway Road from 3 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

As with the other restriction, drivers should expect eastbound I-10 on- and off-ramp closures in the area.

In Buckeye, eastbound I-10 will be narrowed to one lane in areas between Verrado Way and State Route 85 from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday and from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday for a widening project.

Just west of downtown Phoenix, the left two lanes of southbound I-17 will be closed between McDowell Road and Van Buren Street from 4 a.m. to noon Saturday for center barrier wall repair.

The northbound I-17 left lane is also set to be closed in the area during the time of the closure.
